Supplemental Health Insurance
The University of Pittsburgh understands the importance of making high quality, easy-to-use, affordable health care available to students attending college. Student Health Service is available for the treatment of minor illness and injuries; and includes several health education and prevention programs. The University realizes that more serious medical situations may require care beyond the capabilities of a campus health facility; costly care such as emergency department visits, surgery, hospital stays, and therapy visits.
The University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Student Health Plan is an optional program that students and their parents may want to consider selecting if the student’s current health insurance does not provide coverage in the local campus area.
UPMC Health Plan For Pitt Students The University has joined with UPMC Health Plan, the insurance division of the world-class University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to offer comprehensive/affordable student health insurance.
