Appointments

Making an Appointment

The Medical Services reception desk
  • In Person:
  • Go to Medical Services (Room 500 Waiting Room A) and speak with a receptionist.
  • By Telephone: Call 412-383-1800 and speak with a receptionist.

In most cases, you should be able to get an appointment within the same day.

SHS No-Show Appointment Policy

Please be aware that we have a no-show policy.   This means that if you do not come to your appointment -OR- cancel the appointment 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment, a $10 charge will be added to your tuition statement.   (A $10 fee may also be charged if you arrive more than 10 minutes late for an appointment as well).

This policy is in place to ensure that students are seen as quickly as possible. Students who arrive late, no show for appointments, or cancel at the last second, unfairly deprive other students of timely access to care.

When You Arrive for an Appointment

Upon arrival at the Student Health Service prior to your scheduled appointment time, you must check in so that we know that you are here.

You can check-in by going to Medical Services (Room 500 Waiting Room A) and choosing one of the following:

  • Talk to a receptionist.
  • Do it yourself by using our fast and easy Self Check-In Terminal.

Your check-in will be complete after receiving an invoice with your appointment information and unique appointment identification barcode on it.

After Check-In

Go to the appropriate Waiting Room listed on your invoice. When it is your turn to be seen, you will be called into the examining room. You must give your invoice to the clinician. The clinician needs this invoice to create a medical record of your visit and to create a list of services for billing purposes.

After Your Appointment

After you are finished with the clinician, please return to Medical Services (Room 500 Waiting Room A) to settle any billed services or schedule any follow-up appointments with one of the receptionists.

Remember: If you don't pay your bills, you won't be able to register for the next term or receive any transcripts.
